Ingredients
- Raw organic cacao butter, shaved into 1/2 cup
- 1/4 cup raw organic cacao powder
- Rice malt syrup or maple syrup, to taste
- Dash pure vanilla extract
- Pinch sea salt
- Add-ins - get creative with roasted nuts, coconut chips, dried fruit, popped rice (opt)
Instructions
- Gently melt cacao butter in a bowl sitting atop a saucepan of simmering water.
- Take off heat and add cacao powder. Stir till smooth.
- Add sea salt and vanilla.
- Grab your syrup and add a dash, stir well. If not sweet enough, add another dash. Stir and taste again. Mine was sweet enough here but do what you need to do.
- If the chocolate is starting to harden, pop it back on the saucepan of hot water.
- Now for your add-ins. The batch below was made with popped rice and above is Fruit and Nut Chocolate Bark. I roasted and chopped almonds and added a handful of sultanas. This is our favourite batch so far. Or add a few drops of high quality food grade essential oils.
- Either form into clusters, spread on a sheet for bark or put into moulds.
- Place in freezer to set.
