This is a snack idea more than a proper recipe. My girls love it after school when we have bananas in the house. It might also be an option for fussy breakfast eaters.
I’ve included a nut butter recipe that I’ve made a couple of times recently but you can choose your combination of nuts.
Dairy-free, sugar-free, gluten-free
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- Homemade or store bought nutbutter (preferably organic)
- 2 cups almonds
- 1 cup Brazil nuts
- 1 cup cashews or macadamias
- sea salt
Instructions
- Cut banana into slices
- Sandwich nutbutter in between slices
- Serve to grateful kids and adults!
- Pre-heat oven to 160C
- Lay nuts on large baking sheet
- Toast till lightly brown (I keep checking 10-15mins)
- Set aside till nuts cool
- Add nuts to Thermomix or high speed blender and blend on high for 1 minute
- Scrape down bowl and blend for another minute, scrape down bowl
- Add a pinch or two sea salt
- Keep blending till nuts are runny
